  1. I notice that guy’s comment got put on ShitRedditSays, where people used it to rant about orientalism, ignorance, racism, etc…

    So eager to demand nobody notice anything…

    It all reminds me of back when I first was reading Herodotus, and was informed that he was the first in a long line of westerners to create a false image of oriental despotism and western democracy. That is supposed to be, I suppose, more insightful than noticing that the evolution of democracy has been a uniquely western development…

    • I visit SRS frequently—I consider it a sort of unofficial ‘best of.’ On the other hand, it’s aggravating, too. Half of the the posters seem to be offended by nothing more than a mere suggestion that some woman might have done something questionable.
