This is self-parody:
After conversing with self-declared racists, I find most are very aware of the social and economic conditions of the various minority groups. They then use such information to justify their position on the superiority and inferiority of races. I also know many caring and compassionate people who have traveled to economically depressed neighborhoods and countries to become more aware of the plight of the less fortunate who have returned with very paternalistic and superior attitudes…
Racism is emotional in nature. It is not rational or logical, and, as a result, awareness programs designed to address racism using logical argument are destined to have limited effect.
May I suggest intimidation, then? I think that’s actually what we rely on now already.
