Conjoined Twins ‘Abby & Brittany’ Get Their own Reality Show

These conjoined twins are a bit different than most, in that they basically share one body (some organs are duplicated; others are not).

TLC has given us reality TV shows about strange addictions, extreme couponers, and pint-size pageant queens. But it may top itself later this month with “Abby & Brittany,” a look at the lives of conjoined twins Abigail and Brittany Hensel, who have miraculously survived to the age of 22 despite sharing one body fused together at the torso.

When Abby and Brittany were born back in 1990, the doctors told their parents they most likely wouldn’t survive the night. (One in 40,000 twin births are conjoined, and just one percent of those make it to the age of one.) But they defied the medical odds by not only surviving, but thriving.

  1. You do realize, they’re good Lutheran or Baptist girls?

That is the topping on the cake to me!
And your summation as to my motives…YES :O

    • (BTW, I am only guessing, since they attended a Lutheran-affiliated high school, and a Baptist-affiliated college, that they’re Christian, but I thought I also saw a clip of them in a church.)

Now, I don’t think there’s anything wrong, in and of itself, if a guy finds himself attracted to them – they’re women, after all, like any others – but I just know you’re twisted, esp. since that’s the first thing that entered your head upon seeing them. ;)

    • I just watched a 45-minute documentary on them, from 6 years ago, when they were 16. They like blasting rap music from their pick-up truck, and they were talking, at least one of them was, about getting her tongue pierced.

Normal 21st century American girls, with all the good and bad that entails. :)

      • Yeah, though culturally speaking, they’re not as deviant as I thought they might be, raised in rural Minnesota, sent to a Lutheran high school then attending a Baptist college; I figured they’d be shy of worldly ways; turns out they were just like other teens…

They don’t even really like being on TV; they’ve just done a few shows here and there throughout their lives with the hope that people will understand them, and not stare and take pictures of them without permission, when they go out in the wider world, far as I can tell. They’ve turned down hundreds of requests by magazines, etc.

Interesting, likeable gals. I wish them well.

      • I should say, though, David, that I don’t really think of them as deviant, so much as unusual; to me, as per my last comment, I think of deviancy in cultural and behavioural terms, not physiological…
