1950s Brooklyn Men All Agree: Women Need To Be Spanked

Through Ray Sawhill, found this interesting piece of history, which causes progressive moderns to gasp, even while a novel like Fifty Shades of Grey wets millions of modern women’s panties.

  2. Ooooh.. I imagine there might be a few women who enjoy a good spanking, who will probably get off on some of those comments.

Perhaps we should ask DC’s wife what she thinks, then? ;)

Loved that last guy’s comment…”Most of them had it coming to them anyway. If they don’t, it will remind them how well off they are.”

The more things change, the more they stay the same. ;)

Mind you, he sure looks like one tough critter, to me. Not a guy you would tangle with. (male or female!)

  3. I came across this comment Will.. I was interested to find out if the desire for a spanking was more prevalent these days, then say 50 years ago.

Wonder if there are more women these days who like to be spanked than in the past or if it’s just discussed more openly? It does seem to be mentioned a lot of late.

Until 50 years ago or so men automatically had a certain dominant position in relationships because that’s just the way things were. Then there was an era when any suggestion of male dominance was suppressed at least among the highly educated. Now people on blogs are discusing the female desire to feel dominated in a way that wouldn’t have been allowable even 5 years ago. Maybe the female desire to be spanked is in some cases part of this reaction to the feeling that men have goten too wimpy, too beta, too dominated by women, etc

I think anon is onto something here.

For the record, no, I am not into spanking at all.

  4. I think there’s, or there ought to be, a distinction drawn, between spanking within a sexual context, and spanking as punishment. I suspect that there are some who like the former but eschew the idea of the latter; while there are some who like both; and others who don’t care for either. I’m not particularly interested in discussing this to any great extent, in any case; I just found this piece interesting, and thought I’d share it.

  5. It’s not the sexual aspect that I find interesting, Will. Rather as anon said in his comment “the female desire to be dominated.”
Since feminism has succeeded in emasculating men(under the guise of seeking equality) to a great degree, I wonder, then, if the (possibly increased) desire for spanking is just another example of the deleterious, effects of feminism.

Feminism in its quest to subjugate men has succeeded only in pulling the rug out from under its own feet.

Okay, I’ll shut up now. ;)

  6. Maybe that’s the case, Kathy. I don’t know.

I wasn’t meaning to shut you up; I am just personally not interested in speculating much, myself, on this subject.
